Margaret McKeon (she/her) is a writer, hiking guide, and independent scholar. She is a settler person of Irish and German ancestry who is learning how to be a better relative to the land and to Indigenous peoples. Her work has been published in literary journals, academic journals, and book collections. She co-edited Language, Land and Belonging: Poetic Inquiries, a collection of poems and essays published by Vernon Press in 2023. She holds a PhD in Language and Literacy Education from the University of British Columbia and lives with her partner surrounded by mountains and rivers in Canmore, Alberta in Treaty 7 Territory.
